Jags maul miserable Morton

Stephen O'Donnell scored one and provided another as Partick dispatched ten-man Morton 5-0 in an experimental Friday night fixture.

O'Donnell opened the scoring for the Jags in the third minute, bursting into the box and coolly slotting past Colin Stewart.

The former Celtic trainee would then turn creator for the Glasgow side's second. After dispossessing Morton defender Ross Forsyth, he fired an inch-perfect low ball across the face of goal for a grateful Kris Doolan to slot home.

The hosts added a third with 15 minutes remaining. Ton defender Andy Graham saw red for handling a long ball forward, only for Christie Elliott to clip home with ease as the resulting free-kick bounced off the wall.

Chris Erskine connected with Aaron Sinclair's driven cross in the final stages to stub home a fourth goal against the depleted Renfrewshire side, before Thomas Stewart stroked a well-taken fifth beyond his beleaguered namesake from 18 yards.
