Morton 2-0 Falkirk- Match Report

Campbell helps Morton maintain the pace

Archibald Campbell struck his 12th goal of the season as Morton beat Falkirk 2-0 to stay top of the League.

Morton grabbed the lead with the first real chance after 30 minutes and it was Campbell who did the damage when he coolly swept home from close range.

He should have doubled Morton's advantage moments later but missed the target when well placed.

Falkirk's first chance of note came after 40 minutes when David Weatherston blasted over.

And Morton doubled their lead a minute before the break after Michael Tidser's cross found Peter MacDonald and he planted his header into the bottom corner.

They almost added a third after 74 minutes, but David O'Brien's audacious lob cleared the crossbar.
