Morton were held to a third-straight 1-1 draw in the Scottish Championship as Dumbarton came away from Cappielow with a point.

The Sons started brightly and took a 28th-minute lead thanks to an own goal from goalkeeper Derek Gaston whose attempt to punch away Ryan Stevenson's cross span into the net.

Morton came close to equalising just before the break, Scott Tiffoney having a close-range shot blocked, possibly by an arm, and Jai Quitongo immediately firing over.

Substitute Kudus Oyenuga had not been field for two minutes when the striker finished from Michael Tidser's cross just after the hour

Soon after, Oyenuga should have had a second but he fired wide from inside the box.

With momentum having swung Morton's way, Grant Gallagher headed Ricki Lamie's cross against his own post.

Joe Thomson had a late effort ruled out for the visitors and Oyenuga headed wide in the closing moments as the Ton came closest to a winner.
