Morton moved above Forfar in the league after coming from behind to stage a dramatic win.

The home side gave an indication of their intentions in the eighth minute when John Maisano whipped over a free-kick and Peter Weatherson glanced a header just wide of Neal Ferrie's right-hand post.

But Forfar's Eddie Forrest was particularly commanding, blocking a fiercely-struck Dean Keenan drive and making a superb interception when it seemed that a clever combination between John Maisano and Weatherson would result in the former blasting the ball home.

Marco Maisano sustained the 'Ton's momentum with a low shot from distance which swept inches side of a post, but Forfar took the lead four minutes from the break. Forrest took a free-kick on the edge of his own box and Morton were not alert enough to stop Jay Stein galloping down the left flank and sending over a perfect cross for Paul Shields to side-foot the ball past Craig Coyle from a few yards.

Soon after the interval, Barry Sellars nearly put the visitors two up when he was given too much time to measure his angular drive, but Chris Millar was stationed on the line to boot clear.

The equaliser arrived in the 69th minute. Maisano fired a shot across Ferrie, but the ball struck a post and rebounded towards the 'keeper, but he was still sprawling and Weatherson pounced on the loose ball to ram it into the net with conviction.

Five minutes later Millar took a pass from substitute Jason Walker and, from 20 yards, struck a powerful low shot into the corner for the winner.
