MacDonald makes Dundee pay

Peter MacDonald scored the only goal of the game to give Morton a 1-0 away win at Dundee.

Dundee began slowly and were punished by MacDonald after just seven minutes.

The striker blasted home from close-range after good work from David O'Brien on the right-hand side.

Dundee almost equalised seconds after the restart but Rhys Weston's volley was spectacularly saved by Morton goalkeeper Colin Stewart.

But that was as good as it got for the home side and it was the visitors who came closest to scoring again, Michael Tidser having his close-range free-kick tipped around the post by Robert Douglas on the hour mark.

That proved to be the last chance of the match as Morton held on for the win.
