Reserve Tie Rained Off - You Can Help Fix The Pitch

Last updated : 14 December 2004 By Nach0king
Due to severe rain (pictured at end of article: rain; not pictured: Cappielow) tonight's match between Greenock Morton Reserves and Falkirk Reserves has been postponed. Some fans on MortonUnofficial were perplexed as to why the pitch covers were not in use to prevent such an occurrence. I went on an exhaustive* search of various sources and eventually found out the official club stance on the issue:

"Volunteers are required to help with rain coverings on the pitch at Cappielow, if you can offer your time drop us an e-mail with your phone number to commercial@gmfc.net and we will contact you with the details........" (from www.gmfc.net)

So, if you want to do your bit to help the 'Ton move the pitch coverings - and there are dozens of them, all apparently weighing a fair bit, so don't go if you're prone to hernias - then email the club and get to work. NOW!

*(I looked at two websites)

People who quite possibly might be related to someone who once met a Morton fan shelter from the rains that are similar to those that swept over Greenock last night.
