Signings Rumour - Three Players To Arrive?

The rumour mill down Cappielow way indicates that the much-hyped signings of Martin Hardie and Neil Collins are about to take place, with a third mystery signing set to join them.

Collins, as reported here yesterday, rejected a new deal from Dumbarton and opted to leave the club. It is hoped that he will sign next week to link up with new centre-back Stuart McCluskey and current defensive fulcrum Stuart Greacen.

Martin Hardie, a midfielder with an eye for goal, spent last season with Kilmarnock in the SPL. The 28 year old also plied his trade with Partick Thistle, East Stirling and Queen's Park. Morton boss John McCormack narrowly missed teaming up with Hardie at the Spiders, joining the club one year after Martin departed for Firs Park. If these rumours are true, he should arrive at Cappielow at the end of the coming week.

Little is known of the alleged third signing. Fans remain hopeful that the left side of the Morton team will be strengthened in time for the new season.

If the rumours are to be believed, the gloom and pessimism hanging over the Morton fanbase should be partially subsided. Collins impressed most visiting teams to the Rock last season, and Hardie's Premier league pedigree will add some much-needed experience and confidence to an ailing side.
