Dalbeattie Star Determined To Face Morton

icDumfries reports that Dalbeattie Star are taking a professional approach to their Scottish Cup First Round tie against Cove Rangers. With a chance to meet either Morton or East Stirlingshire in Round Two, the East of Scotland League side are heading up to Aberdeen on Friday night, so as to give the team a full night's rest before playing on the Saturday.

With the chance of a large crowd and media interest at either Islecroft Stadium or Allan Park, both sides are eager to grind out a victory before facing league opposition. With Morton heavily tipped to beat luckless 'Shire, the non-league meeting is slightly closer. However, Star have had by far the better league form in a fairly competitive East of Scotland setup, whilst Cove have struggled greatly in the Highland League so far this season. Home advantage might be enough to see them through, but with Star leaving none of their preparations to chance, a tight game is on the cards.
