Cove Rangers: Cup Specialists

The Daily Record reports that Cove Rangers veteran John Brown is ready to make Cove's compact pitch and windy location work to his team's advantage.

Assumingly unaware of the fact that the phenomenon known as "wind" does in fact occur here at the Tail o' the Bank, Brown went on to mention that the ex-Peterhead players in the Cove team give the Allan Park side an uncommon dimension of skill and experience. A salutary warning for Morton, indeed - the ex-Blue Tooners, Martin Johnston and Kevin Tindall, played in the Peterhead side that tanked Morton 4-2 at Balmoor early in the 2002/03 Championship season. Tindall, a vastly experienced campaigner, also played in the 3-1 home win that year.

With quality lower-division players and a team certain to be up for it - this is, as John Brown says, the Aberdeen side's "cup final" - Morton cannot be too sure of anything going into this tie.
