Morton striker Derek Lyle has been ruled out of the trip to Palmerston while Kevin Kelbie is injured.
Kevin McKinlay is trying to shake off a knock in time to play while Darren Young could feature on the bench following a recent calf problem.
Queen of the South manager Kenny Brannigan: "Monday was a very quiet day (after losing the ALBA Challenge Cup final) but the spirit in the camp was good again so we will go out and give it our best.
"I have to ask the experienced boys to do all they can to help the youngsters we bring in. It is not ideal but we are so short of bodies there is not much else we can do."
Morton manager Allan Moore: "They have given us tough games and it is time for us to win one now.
"A win would move us back up the table and everyone knows I am determined that Morton finish as far up the table as possible come the end of the season."
