Morton V Hamilton at Cappielow Park - Match Preview

Novo looks to inspire Morton

Struggling Morton will include Nacho Novo against Scottish Championship leaders Hamilton and the new signing could form a strike partnership alongside Slovakian summer signing Michal Habai.

Thomas O'Ware (foot) and David O'Brien (shoulder) remain sidelined with Reece Hands and Kabba-Modou Cham both doubtful for a Morton side who have not won since the opening day of the season.

Cappielow manager Allan Moore said: "I am delighted to get Nacho involved and he will feature against Hamilton, however we need to temper expectations as he is not going to win games on his own.

"He needs the team to play well in order that chances are created and we all need the defence to stop making mistakes if we are to get a win."

High-flying Hamilton have player/manager Alex Neil available after suspension as they travel to Morton on the back of just one defeat in their opening eight matches.

A knee injury continues to keep Jonathan Routledge out of action, Stephen Hendrie is away on Scotland Under-19 duty while Ali Crawford is a major doubt due to a training ground knock.

Neil said: "Losing Stephen is disappointing as he was part of a side who played very well to defeat Livingston last Saturday. We have changes in mind to compensate for his absence.

"Morton will play Nacho Novo at some stage but we will stick to the game plan we started the week with."
