Morton V Cowdenbeath at Cappielow Park - Match Preview

Late test for Peciar

Morton will be without David O'Brien (thigh) and Tomas Peciar faces a late fitness test ahead of the clash with Cowdenbeath.

Boss Allan Moore knows that turning Cappielow into a fortress will make his side serious challengers for the Championship.

He said: "Our home record last season was disappointing and if we are to do anything this year we have to win more games here. I have the attacking options to do it and hopefully they will deliver.

"Cowdenbeath will make it difficult but a win would set us up nicely for the season."

Cowdenbeath head in good shape, with Jamie Stevenson and Lewis Milne available after suspension and Nat Wedderburn and Thomas O'Brien free of injury.

Player/manager Colin Cameron is looking for better fortune at Greenock as he said: "Last year in our first game there we battled away and looked set for a point and then lost a last-minute goal. In the second visit we were two ahead at half-time and then lost four goals in a crazy second half.

"I am looking for better luck this time, however I know Morton will be determined to put on a performance that shows they are title challengers."
