Morton Sign Ryan Harding

Richard Gough oversees the departure of Ryan Harding
Former Livingston youngster Ryan Harding was released by the West Lothian scummers, leaving the beleagured central defender free to seek asylum at the sunny banks of the river Clyde.

Harding, a young player with a small amount of SPL experience, is regarded as one for the future by 'Ton boss Jim McInally, who had set his sights on Harding for next season's first division struggle/second division walkover (delete as appropriate, depending on how drunk you are.) Conversely, Richard Gough (pictured) regards Harding as one for the scrapheap; hopefully to the benefit of Morton.

Harding is eligible to join the squad tomorrow for the tie against bogey team Ayr United. He may make a "dynamic duo", or at least a "tolerable twosome", with his former Livingston compatriot Scott McLaughlin, who is on loan at the club. McLaughlin, or "Ol' Dustyboots" as he is know, was apparently instrumental in helping Morton to snatch the player from under the stupid nose of Dick "Dick" Campbell and his Partick Thistle failures.

With added competition at centre back for Greacen and McCluskey, Morton might find their defensive performances to be that bit more convincing as the season goes on. With Stranraer re-signing Michael Moore today, this could be a vital way of keeping the Ton's promotion hopes alive.
