Injury News for tomorrow's match against Forfar

Compounding yesterday's terrible transfer news regarding Darren O'Dea (see Related Article), once again the Morton support has little reason to be cheerful following the revelation that two midfield players may be out of tomorrow's match.

John Adam is definitley out of the match as he currently suffers from a virus; Chris Millar, the stalwart youngster who has been a key player at Cappielow since his arrival from Celtic, may be set to join him on the sick bed (that is, metaphorical sick bed, I doubt they'd be sharing one... you know, for hygiene reasons.)

The defence and midfield are thus in a weaker state than they were at the beginning of the transfer window. Admittedly, injuries and illnesses are unforseen circumstances, but had we used more loan or even permanent signings to replace those we lost in January, we might not have such selection woes. Nobody concerned with Morton would advocate building a Gretna-style squad of 1,000 men, but it seems ludicrous that a team with state-of-the-art training facilities and a few well-known players can lack strength in depth. 'Ton fans can only hope that DDF Rae and Jim McInally have plans for strengthening the squad over the summer.
