Alloa Match Postponed

The chance to deal a psychological blow to Stranraer by cutting the gap between Morton and the Blues was snatched from Morton's grubby mitts today by the forces of Mother Nature, and her accomplice, namely the ref who conducted the 4pm pitch inspection at Recreation Park.

Tonight's match has been called off due to heavy rain in Clackmannanshire, that has apparently rendered the pitch unplayable. Champions-elect Brechin, meanwhile, have a chance to cut both Morton and Stranraer adrift as they travel to struggling Ayr United, in a game that has not fallen victim to the weather.

Recreation Park is named after a local Alloa dignitary, Reginald Dunlop Recreation-Smythe, who bankrolled the club for a period in the early 1900s.
