Merry Christmas from Morton-MAD

Even if Santa wasn't good to you, I hope you can drown your sorrows in the company of friends and family today. Wherever you are, and whyever you're reading this, I offer warm holiday greetings to you, and I hope that you keep checking this site over the festive season and into the New Year.

I've been looking at the readership figures for this site, and they're steadily rising, despite infrequent updates and recycled news. Truth be told, fulfilling the five-articles-a-week quota can be difficult. I have no official contacts at the club, and rely on one or two people for anything approaching "news"; everything else is clipped from online newspaper articles or various print sources. The messageboard hasn't exactly taken off, either, but I'm very pleased with the contribution from the small yet increasingly merry band of "regulars" such as TaunTon, Salty, and Hendo. I wouldn't be as melodramatic as to call running this site an "uphill struggle", though - it pretty much takes care of itself, and with auto-generated match reports, my shameful inability to attend away games and home games that fall on tournament weekends is hidden like flaccid genetalia behind a fig leaf.

However, as I've said, the figures are rising, so somebody, somewhere, must be enjoying this, and telling other people that they might enjoy it, too. That's what it's all about, after all. So, I now feel honour-bound, and slightly tipsy. I swear by the Stella in my hand that I shall endeavour to channel my Christmas spirit into making sure Morton-MAD becomes even better in 2005.
I hope you stick with it :-)
